The big percentage is what a purchase is worth per dollar at your travel valuation, so cards with different currencies compare on one scale. The small text is the card's own rate: 3x means 3 points or miles per dollar; 3% means 3 cents cash back per dollar. Points are converted using the values on the Settings page — for example, 3 points per dollar valued at 1¢ each would be a 3% estimated return. cap means the bonus rate stops after a spending limit, activate means you must enroll each quarter, and Q marks a rotating quarterly category that changes on the 1st of the next quarter. The bar under each top pick is that return relative to your single best category (5% = a full bar), so you can see at a glance which categories your wallet is strong or weak in.
