up to $10,000/year
Automatic, not elected: each month the card pays 3% on the eligible category where you spent the most and 2% on the second-highest; the eight eligible categories are Grocery (including wholesale clubs), Bills & Utilities (including ongoing subscriptions such as streaming; phone/internet bills modeled here as part of 'bills'), Health & Beauty (modeled as drugstores), Gas, Entertainment, Dining & Nightlife, Transportation, Travel. Pick your usual top category. Cap: Doctor of Credit (quoting the rewards terms, 2021 and again Mar 2025) says the 3% and 2% categories have a $10,000 annual spend limit after which they earn 1%; TPG (Feb 2025) and CNBC Select (Mar 2026) say no earning limits — the cap is recorded conservatively. |

Notes
Issued by Synchrony on the Visa network (Traditional or Signature). Earn tiers are automatic each month based on where you spend most — no category election. Rewards are deposited to your Venmo balance; you can redeem to bank, spend, or auto-purchase crypto. No public sign-up bonus; targeted offers recur (e.g. $200 after $1,000 in 6 months seen Mar 2025; a targeted triple-rewards promo 9%/6%/3% for 6 months expired Jun 25, 2026). CNBC Select (Mar 2026) reports the card is offered only to a random subset of Venmo customers with an account 30+ days old and activity in the last 12 months — you generally need to apply from within the Venmo app. No travel insurance or purchase protections are advertised. Web-verified 2026-09-08 against https://newsroom.paypal-corp.com/2020-10-05-Introducing-the-Venmo-Credit-Card (official launch release: Synchrony/Visa, no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, 3%/2%/1%, eight categories), https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/reviews/venmo-credit-card-review/ (Feb 2025) and https://www.cnbc.com/select/venmo-credit-card-review/ (Mar 2026); the current Venmo product page (account.venmo.com/credit-card) is a JS app that would not render, so the $10,000 category cap reported by Doctor of Credit could not be confirmed against current issuer terms.
