PenFed membership required (anyone can join with a $5 savings account). PenFed Honors Advantage = military service (active duty, Guard/Reserve, honorably discharged veteran or retired) OR being primary owner of a PenFed Access America or Free Checking account (Free Checking needs a $500 daily balance or $500/month direct deposit; PenCheck Limited excluded). Honors Advantage raises travel to 4x and dining to 3x (rates rise automatically once eligible). Points are worth a minimum of $0.0085 and up to $0.01 each (travel, gift cards, merchandise; no cash back) and expire 5 years after the month earned. Visa Signature benefits apply only if the credit line is $5,000 or more; smaller lines get Visa Traditional benefits. Annual fee waiver for Honors Advantage members ends 2026-09-28 per cardholder letters (Doctor of Credit 2026-08-15); PenFed does not refund the annual fee once it posts.
