Earning

Marriott (Hotels (booked direct))
Chase wording: '3 points for each $1 spent on qualifying purchases made at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy'. Chase advertises 'up to 14X total' = 3X card + up to 10X Bonvoy member base points + 1X Silver Elite bonus on paid stays; only the card's 3X is filed here.
3x 2.55%
Groceries (supermarkets)
Chase wording: 'grocery stores'. No annual cap (Upgraded Points 2026-03-12).
2x 1.7%
Phone, internet, cable
Chase wording: 'internet, cable, and phone services'.
2x 1.7%
Streaming services
Chase wording: 'select streaming services'.
2x 1.7%
Rideshare
Chase's rewards-category wording is 'taxicabs and limousines' (marketed as 'rideshare'); this is the merchant code Uber and Lyft use, and traditional taxis qualify too. Filed as rideshare rather than transit because public transit, parking and tolls do not earn the bonus.
2x 1.7%
Food delivery apps
Chase wording: 'select food delivery services' - purchases made directly with DoorDash, Caviar, Uber Eats, Postmates, Grubhub, Seamless, and Delivery.com. Merchant left null because the bonus spans seven named merchants (DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub exist in the taxonomy and resolve to this category; Caviar, Postmates, Seamless and Delivery.com do not have merchant keys).
2x 1.7%
Everything else
Chase wording: '1 point for each $1 spent on all other purchases'.
1x 0.85%

  • Pay Yourself Back on airfare and Marriott stays — Redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for a statement credit against airline tickets purchased directly with airlines or Marriott Bonvoy hotel stays at 12,500 points per $100 (0.8 cents per point), up to $750 in redemptions per year (Chase card page).
  • Chase Pay Over Time for travel (no fee) — Split qualifying airline and Marriott hotel purchases of $100-$5,000 into equal monthly payments with no interest and no plan fee (Chase press release 2024-07-11; Chase card page).

  • Marriott Bonvoy airline transfers — Marriott Bonvoy points transfer to 40+ airline programs at 3:1 (Upgraded Points 2026-08-06); a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points transferred improves the effective rate to about 2.4:1 (The Points Guy).
