Starter card for people new to credit (launched in branches 2023-06-12, online in early 2024). No welcome bonus other than the $25 autopay credit and the limited-time 3% dining promo; NO intro APR (18.24%-27.74% variable). Having $250 in a Chase checking or savings account (within two days of applying) improves approval odds but is not required. Issuer page and reviews (TPG, FinanceBuzz, Upgraded Points) list only purchase protection, extended warranty and trip cancellation/interruption — no auto rental CDW, roadside or travel accident coverage, so rental_car is set to none. 3% foreign transaction fee (WalletHub 2026-07-30, Wise, FinanceBuzz); the 2026-09-20 Freedom Flex fee removal does not apply here. Lyft 2% through 2027-09-30; DashPass offers through 2027-12-31. Rewards post as Chase Ultimate Rewards points; 1 point = 1 cent for cash back/statement credit (no minimum to redeem, never expire while the account is open); Amazon Shop with Points redeems at only 0.8 cents/point.
