Earning

Groceries (supermarkets)
3X points at grocery stores (Chase wording). Pay Yourself Back terms exclude Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs from 'grocery', so assume those do not code as grocery stores for earning either.
3x 4.5%
Dining & restaurants
3X points on dining at restaurants including takeout and eligible delivery services.
3x 4.5%
Airfare (booked direct)
3X points on purchases made with Air Canada directly. Applies only to Air Canada (flights and other purchases made directly with Air Canada), not to other airlines; 'air_canada' is not a taxonomy merchant key so merchant is null.
requires Purchased directly with Air Canada
3x 4.5%
Everything else
1X point on all other purchases. Plus 500 bonus points for every $2,000 spent in a calendar month, up to 1,500 bonus points per month (i.e. roughly an extra 0.25 points per $1 on the first $6,000 of monthly spend); not modeled as a rate.

Notes

Chase-issued Air Canada co-brand (World Elite Mastercard; slug kept as 'aeroplan-visa' per catalog family naming). Launched 2021-12-02. Core terms unchanged in 2026: $95 fee, 3x grocery/dining/Air Canada, 1x elsewhere, plus 500 bonus points per $2,000 of monthly spend (max 1,500/month). Elite-status structure changed for 2026: the 'Level Up' one-tier upgrade at $50,000 calendar-year spend is discontinued (AwardWallet: last Level Up earned on 2026 spend is valid through 2027-01-31) and replaced by 5,000 annual Status Qualifying Credits plus 10,000 SQC at $25,000 and 10,000 SQC at $50,000 (max 25,000/yr across all Aeroplan cards); Chase's page now shows 35K Status at $75,000 spend and 25K retention at $15,000. Chase's Guide to Benefits (BGC11079) lists only auto rental CDW, baggage delay, purchase protection, roadside assistance, trip cancellation/interruption and trip delay - no extended warranty, lost luggage or travel accident coverage is listed, so those are null. Rental CDW is secondary in the U.S. per Chase. Pay Yourself Back: 1.25 cpp on travel and the annual fee (200,000 points/yr cap), 0.8 cpp on dining/grocery/gas (review-site figures; Chase's PYB page does not publish rates). DashPass one year free and $10 quarterly non-restaurant DoorDash credit run through 12/31/2027. Points do not expire while the account is open. Chase 5/24 rule applies. Elevated 75k+25k welcome offer appears intermittently (Apr-Jun 2026, again Aug 2026); Chase's page showed 60k/$3k on 2026-09-08.
